The BBC has chosen to remember Bob Moog with an article on names that are rarely pronounced correctly. Hunh.

I suspect that motomuffin, at least, will sympathise.

Wow. What a great article.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the best gift my husband ever gave me is his blessedly easy-to-spell, easy-to-pronounce surname. G*d bless him.

And I left behind my simple name when I married Bill. Now I am able to quickly tell if the person calling is a telemarketer though since they never pronounce our last name correctly.

All of my female cousins are married into pronouncable names, too: Sommers, Hall, Goodburn, Felton, and Moon.
