A Swedish study quoted on the BBC claims that "sportswomen" (which would include physically active women of all sorts, I'd presume, not just those who play sports) are more prone to injury during their menstrual cycle. And not because they play more aggressively or any such thing, either: the results are focused on physical changes such as tension levels in ligaments and ability to perceive pain.

Maybe this doesn't come as any surprise to anyone else, but to me, a male who seems pretty steadily prone to injury month-round, it's fascinating.
