09:51 am - *sigh* and congrats
The news about Saddam Hussein's execution doesn't make me feel any safer or happier, really, and I'm in the mood for some escapism. In that spirit, congratulations to Hugh Laurie OBE.

Go Hugh! I am in the middle of reading "The Gun Seller," HL's one and only (as far as I know) novel. It's good, but it's probably just as well that he's stuck to acting.

According to Wikipedia, Laurie is "working on the screenplay for a movie version [of The Gun Seller] and on a second novel, The Paper Soldier." No idea how trustworthy that information is.

I'm glad you're enjoying The Gun Seller; it gets off to a really hugely entertaining start, like P.G. Wodehouse writing a James Bond novel or something. Let me know what you think of it when you finish?

Amazon.com has The Paper Soldier listed for release in September 2007, so it can't be -all- lies. :-)

I've just returned from the library where I have obtained The Gun Seller. Yippie!
