06:10 pm - Mmm.
I know Matthew Parris is actually talking about the UK's current (entertainingly wretched) political situation, but what I took away from this article was primarily: ooooh, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in Waiting For Godot. Wish I was in London...

Ha! There was something in the New York Times about that production a few weeks ago, and I had the exact same reaction.

Oh god. Please tell me they're going to tape a production of that at some point.

Nathan Lane, Bill Irwin, John Goodman, and John Glover are doing it on Broadway, and I've heard that was a fantastic show. I think Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart would be even better, though. Maybe you should make a special trip over to see it if it won't still be playing (with the two of them in it) by the time you go home for christmas. You could go as a birthday present to yourself. :}

It's a nice thought, but sadly I don't have either the vacation time or the money to fly home more than once a year.

The web site for the production shows tickets available out through August, and doesn't mention a closing date. So I'll hope they keep it going until Christmas. (Or film it, but I'd rather see it live if I can.)

...also, sheesh. Simon Callow in the secondary role? Excess of talent here.
