David Bowie released a 40th-anniversary digital-EP version of "Space Oddity" on iTunes, Amazon, etc. This includes three mixes of the 1969 single (mono, US mono, US stereo), the not-entirely-successful 1979 re-recording, and... all 8 tracks off the multi-track — lead vocal, backing vocal, acoustic guitar, Mellotron, strings, etc. — as separate stereo MP3s. This allows the listener to create their own remix or (much more interestingly to me) hear all the little details which are muted or lost in the final mixes.
Damnit. I want everything to be released this way now. :-)
