An amusingly sad-but-true story from the good folks at Snopes.com:

The County of Los Angeles has requested that computer equipment vendors avoid using the term “Master/Slave” in product descriptions and labelling. The reason? “Based on the cultural diversity and sensitivity of Los Angeles County, this is not an acceptable identification label.”

there's no way that's going to happen but it's a nice idea.
maybe they should take it up with Microsoft and every other major computer manufacturer ;)

I wonder how they plan to reword their documentation without confusing a lot of people
