Based on how heavy the foot traffic already was at 6:30pm, when we got out of our film (Stephen Fry's Bright Young Things—very entertaining, and full of “Oooh, look, it's that British actor!” moments), and based also on the predictions of rain, I think going to Trafalgar Square for midnight is right out: I don't want to be rained on all evening and risk getting a cold just in time for my flight, I don't feel like dealing with the crush, and I dislike odds of “tens of thousands” (drunks) to one (me).

So instead, I intend to celebrate the 2,006th (approximate) anniversary of the birth (in 4 BC) of someone I don't much care about (and who may or may not have existed)... by staying home and reading a good book whilst ingesting digestive biscuits. Lovely.
