Hunh. I'm pretty sure I don't know anyone named Corey Burke [sp?].
Apparently, while I was away in the UK, this person rented a U-Haul truck from the Bedford agency and left my phone number and name as his contact information. Then he didn't return the truck. Then he still didn't return the truck. Then, eventually, he did return the truck, but without its keys (which, at time of writing, are still missing). The whole saga is documented in the increasingly-irritated phone messages left on my answering machine over the last two weeks.
I rang up the Bedford U-Haul and let them know that I didn't know Mr Burke. The U-Haul guy said that Burke also left the number and name of someone else who turned out not to know him, so I guess that's a pattern there.
There aren't any mysterious/spurious charges on any of my credit cards, so I don't think it's a case of identity-theft: he probably just snagged my name from the phone directory. Still annoying, though.
