From an AP story in the Boston Globe: "The Democratic-controlled state Senate voted overwhelmingly Wednesday to repeal the 1913 statute that Republican Gov. Mitt Romney is using to bar out-of-state gay couples from marrying in Massachusetts."

This doesn't actually change anything (to do so, the repeal would need to go through the state House, which isn't as liberal as the Senate, and our frothing Governor would undoubtedly just veto it anyway). But it's still cool in a "bite us, Mitt!" sort of way. :-)

Note that if the legislature votes even remotely close to party line, the veto won't matter. The 40-member Senate has 7 Republicans. The 160-member House has 22, plus one independent. (Then again, if they'd voted even close to party line, we wouldn't have the proposed anti-gay-marriage constitutional amendment out there.)
