According to this story, the upcoming 10-disc Matrix Trilogy DVD box set is going to include commentary tracks on all three films by "professional critics who hated [the] films."
Damnit. That's a terribly clever idea on the Wachowskis' part: I have to admit that I'm actually tempted. (I mean, I won't buy the set, but I might actually think about renting it just to listen to the hostile commentary.)
Yeah, that's going on the rental list for sure. :)
Yeah, I think the whole seven-discs-of-extras-for-a-three-disc-s
eries thing is a tad excessive, myself, but then I'm not a Matrix
On the other hand, if they put out a 10-disc box in which the other seven discs were all the movies that The Matrix
lifted from, that'd be sort of cool. Disc Four could be The Terminator
; Disc Five, Akira
; Disc Six, Blade Runner
; Disc Seven, Enter the Dragon
; Disc Eight, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
; Disc Nine, TRON
; Disc Ten, all those Gap Khaki ads.
But nothing so entertaining will happen in the real world, though there is
apparently going to be a more expensive version of the 10-disc set with a bust of Neo
. Woo-hoo. I think the WETA folks who started putting sculptures in the Lord of the Rings
collector's sets have a lot to answer for.
You mean they're giving it the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 kind of treatment?? WOOOHOOO!!!!
