What she said. Very wide friends page.
*sigh* Politics are smelly, throw rocks at it.
News Flash! The South Sucks: Film Every Day For The Next Four Years And Counting.
I laughed when I first read your comment. :)
Then I felt bad about doing so, because, well...something like, what, 4 out of 10 folks living in the South *didn't* vote for Bush? And not only do they have to deal with the next 4 years like the rest of us, but they get extra bonus shunning and blame and reviling of their home. (And quite possibly have local-politics issues that aren't how they'd like, either.)
It must be frustrating.
What was it Jack Napier said about Gotham City in Tim Burton's Batman?
"Decent people shouldn't live here; they'd be happier someplace else."
We don't *have* polotics down here in in the south, we have resonable mesured discussions about what should be done then the non-farming farmers and non-practicing lawyers (who make up the bulk of our political "professionals) decide to disobey the laws of common sense.
Denton Tx, is a college town with four major campuses for all intents and purposes and a rather liberal bent (for being this far south) and we ended up with a 70/30 split in the Republicon's favor. [sigh]
Yeah. And I realize that there are lots of decent people in the South, and not everyone is a raving redneak maniac or a grinning evil KKK cross-burner, but it's so hard to keep that in mind...

Far too scary.
