Another Christmas Eve; another service of carols at Westminster Abbey bestrewn liberally with crying infants. But oh well: the choristers were in fine form, the service wasn't draggy, and in any event I'm a sucker for Anglican high-church organ music, especially in the glorious acoustics of the Abbey.

(I'm also proud to report that I am still unable to listen to the reading about the "gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh" without immediately adopting my best Terry Jones pepper-pot voice and muttering, "Wot is myrrh, anyway?")

Anyhow, I'm off now to make a start on wrapping presents (because I'm a slacker, that's why). Happy Christmas, folks...

"A balm? What are you giving him a balm for? It might bite him."
